PROJECT: This kitchen was one where we completely reimagined the layout. For the Belmont Kitchen, we wanted to add color, fun, and a vibrant energy within a timeless kitchen.
DESIGN DETAILS: First we stole some square footage from a dining room and we actually closed off a wall in order to make a true L-shaped kitchen, which maximizes the functionality of the space. And if a kitchen isn't function, it doesn't matter how beautiful it is...it won't make anyone happy. These clients love color, so we wanted to incorporate the fun, vibrant energy that they love within a timeless kitchen. Hence we kept the perimeter white in a classic shaker store door front and went fun with a green island. The counter is quartz and the backsplash is a classic white subway tile in a straight herringbone pattern, which adds some interest and texture. The pendants are simple and glass because this kitchen is truly in the center of the home and there is no window and minimal natural light. The clear glass keeps it light and airy. then we decorating with lots of woven textures and lots of color to add all the personality that really define this home, and our clients.
